Red Snapper is exotic seafood hailing originally from the US and other tropical regions esp in the Gulf of Mexico. However, it is easily available now in the Indian coastal waters also and It lends itself to a variety of tasty preparations such as fish curry, fish fry, and are available either as fillets or steaks. The flesh is white, delicate and mild and it’s tinted pink from its red skin. It is moist, and it has a mildly sweet and fresh taste.
The name has been foisted off on just about any fish that is red. Fish weighing 2 to 4 pounds have a metallic, pink skin. As they grow larger, their skin becomes redder.
