Fish Used: Kingfish (Surmai – Order here)

Servings: 6-8

●6 -8 Small King Fish cleaned
●3 Onions Finely chopped
●Rava / Semolina /Bread crumbs for coating
●2 Eggs Beaten
●1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
●Oil for frying
●Green Masala Paste for Cutlets
●1 Cup of Green coriander
●3-4 Green chilies
●5-6 Garlic flakes
●1 inch Ginger
●1/4 Turmeric
●1/2 Tsp pepper corns
●1 Small stick of cinnamon
●6 Cloves
●1 Table spoon of vinegar


●Place the King fish in a pan or kadhai, add salt, turmeric and add a little water. Boil the Kingfish for 10 min.
●Allow the Fish to cool down. Meanwhile, sauté the onions chopped until soft and transparent.
●Grind all the ingredients mentioned above into thick paste(make sure it’s not watery)
●Once King fish is cooled down clean the fish by removing all the big and small bones.
●Add King Fish cleaned in a bowl, in that also add cooked onions, green paste, turmeric and salt as required.
●Mix and mash all the ingredients well into smooth mixture.
●Then make small round cutlets and keep aside.
●Dip the cutlets into beaten egg and then roll into rava or bread crumbs and allow to rest at room temperature for 2-3 min or can also place into the freezer.
●Keep a pan or Tava on the stove, once heated add oil and shallow fry the cutlets.

Recipe Name: Crispy Fried BASA
Fish Used:  Basa (Order Here) 
For Basa-

  1. 1. 1/2 kg Basa fish fillet
  2. 2. 100 gm semolina
  3. 3. 1 Tsp red chilli powder
  4. 4. salt to taste.

For Salad-

  1. 1. Carrot
  2. 2. Radish
  3. 3. Cucumber
  4. 4. Bell peppers (red, green and yellow)
  5. 5. French beans
  6. 6. Cauliflower
  7. 7. Green onion
  8. 8. Broccoli
  9. 9. or as per your choice.

The method for fish:

  1. 1. Wash fish n dry it.
  2. 2. Add red chilli powder n salt in semolina.
  3. 3. Apply this mixture on both the sides of fish.
  4. 4. Take a dosa tava and grease it with 2-3 Tsp.oil, let it get hot, now put your fish on tava and cook from both the sides. Your fish is ready.

Preparation of salad:

  1. 1. Cut your vegetables in length wise except cauliflower n broccoli (make small pieces of them)
  2. 2. Now, steam cauliflower, broccoli n beans (half cook) then stirred fry them sprinkle salt n black pepper powder on them. Keep rest of other vegetables raw. Keep them in iced cold water for some time.
  3. 3. Add sweet red chilli sauce and oyster sauce in raw vegetables as per your requirements.

Now arrange your fish with salad n serve hot n enjoy hot crispy basa with the yummy salad.

Crispy Fried Basa

Recipe Name: Pomfret Bhujane (A Pathare Prabhu Special Recipe)
Fish Used: Silver Pomfret (Order here)
(Tip: Especially we used the head & tail of the Silver Pomfret for this Curry)


  1. 1. Onions – 2 (Finely Chopped)
  2. 2. Ginger garlic paste
  3. 3. Red chilli powder
  4. 4. Haldi powder
  5. 5. Salt to Taste
  6. 6. Coriander leaves (Freshly Chopped)
  7. 7. Oil.


  1. 1.Finely chop the onions add ginger-garlic paste, Turmeric, red chili powder, salt, oil and coriander leaves
  2. 2.Nicely crush this all ingredients with your hands.
  3. 3.Heat a pan. Add all the above mixture, add a little water as per your requirement.
  4. 4. Cover the Pan for 10mins. Cook till the onion changes the colors, then add the Pomfret pieces & mix well.
  5. 5. Cook for five Minutes as fish pieces cook quickly. Once done garnish it with coriander leaves.
  6. 6. Serve hot with rice.
